•Airfoil Design: With the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics our wing has been highly refined in every aspect. Our unique design gives The Gryphus industry leading glide and flare performance. You can even fly it backwards while remaining completely stable!
• Ample Reinforcements: The Gryphus is robustly constructed with reinforcements at critical areas such as line and bridle attachment points. BASE jumping puts extreme forces on equipment, which is why we over-engineered our canopy to exceed industry standards, all while keeping weight and pack volume to a minimum.
• Highest Quality Materials: We use only the best materials available throughout construction. Ultralight/low pack volume PN9 and ZP fabrics from Porcher Sport, France. Lines from CSR Braids, USA. All structural tapes and webbings are Mil-Spec from our USA based supplier.
• Leading Edge Slats: Our slat design and positioning were engineered to ensure optimal performance while taking advantage of the Venturi effect to speed up the air over the top skin. The added laminar airflow prevents the stall up to a higher angle of incidence and lift coefficient. Simply put, the Gryphus can sink into the most technical LZs on the planet with ease.
• Vents: Three strategically placed and sized vents encourage a nose-first, symmetrical inflation. The total surface area of our vents, combined with our refined airfoil provides rapid inflations. This means the user has immediate toggle response as soon as the canopy is open. This allows for earlier heading corrections and object avoidance if needed.
• ZP (Zero Porosity) Nose: Because the leading edge is one of the most critical parts of an airfoil, it is crucial to take advantage of the positive characteristics ZP provides in this location. Our ZP nose increases glide and quickens openings, while also increasing the performance and longevity of The Gryphus.
•Continuous Brake Lines: The upper control lines on the Gryphus don’t use loop-to-loop junctions. Instead, each upper control line is finger-trapped within the main control line. The result: cleaner line stows and a decreased probability of tension knots.
•Rib Crossports: Our crossports were carefully engineered to allow rapid and symmetrical pressurization within the canopy while preventing top skin distortion. This allows for fast, predictable inflations allowing immediate toggle response upon opening.
* Please upsize if you are primarily jumping into highly technical landing areas, if you are primarily jumping at high altitudes, or if you are an inexperienced jumper.*

FINALLY a BASE canopy that can do-it-all! I’m a firm believer in having the right tool for the job and multiple arrows in your quiver for specific jumps. The gryphus completely obliterates that need! Alpine wingsuit jump in the Italian Dolomites, CHECK! Urban SD jump with a tight and technical LZ, CHECK.! Sending aerials at the Perrine then swooping it into the beach for the ladies, CHECK and CHECK! On heading openings, even pressurization, instantaneous toggle response, superior glide, and a flare that makes you constantly feel like you’re landing into a 5mph headwind, downhill, on a freshly manicured Kentucky bluegrass field.

As a big boy in the sport I’ve been highly impressed with the performance and reliability of the 300UL. It has held up well in the harsh AZ desert and this canopy leaves me wanting nothing more. The exceptional glide as well as the deep brake performance has been a huge asset and the Gryphus is now my go-to canopy for any and all jumps, both slider up or down. Trust that you will not be disappointed flying this canopy.

I am super stoked about how this canopy came out! Coming from an Speedflying/Paramotoring/BASE background, I have a solid grasp on what makes a good wing, and the Gryphus is has it all. Its got powerful flight characteristics while maneuvering through the sky, and acts quick when you need to execute those technical jumps we all desperately love! I also love how great this canopy opens up, fast and on-heading. It’s super quick to react when you add input and playful when you want it to to be or docile when you need it to be. This canopy is such a gem being added into the quiver especially living in Arizona, some jumps I need to sink the canopy in for landing and some jumps I want to swoop like I’m flying a speedwing. With this canopy you can do both, the one thing that also really stood out to me was how good the flare is! Can’t beat it!

After 15 years of BASE jumping and seeing the development of gear over my career, I can happily say this is one of the most impressive canopy’s I have flown. This year I did 40 wingsuit BASE jumps on the Gryphus and it has all the flight characteristics I was looking for. The buttery smooth on-heading openings were consistent. The deep brake flight felt solid and in control with plenty of flare for soft landings. I’m looking forward to testing it out a bit more in the slider down environment. But I’m impressed enough that I’m ordering more. Hats off to Chase and the Exile BASE team!

The Gryphus 240 UL: One of the most versatile canopies I’ve ever jumped. Without a doubt, this canopy has the most glide of any other BASE canopy I’ve jumped. I knew it was going to be unique once I started packing it. It’s a hell of a tool to have in your jumping arsenal. Slider Up or slider off the Gryphus has my trust. Swoop it in aggressively or drop her out of the sky without worry. It reacts to your inputs quickly! Take some time, obviously, to figure it out. Once you do, you’ll learn to love it.

Alright boys listen up, beginner to expert, slider down to terminal, earth to urban, conservative jumpers to Russians; this canopy has been jumped and refined by and for the needs of nearly every voice in the BASE community, with Chase and the Exile boys spearheading the charge into territory we never thought possible with a BASE canopy.
Now that sounds too good to be true, and it wouldn’t be, if it was, but it isn’t.
See, the good lord blessed your friend Devon here with the adult stature of a third grader, so I’m loading my Gryphus 200UL at a soft 0.67, yet I’m sinking this mf canopy into LZs so dirty your mother would be ashamed of me if I weren’t pulling out— powerful flares from half or even three quarter brakes. Still the glide coming out of this bad boy is the craziest thing. The distances I’m covering would be impossible with my previous 210UL, it’s stupid, like truly stupid this is possible. The Wright Brothers would immediately change their name to the Wrong Brothers if they saw this shit. This canopy has an unusual ability to remain docile when you need it, while gettin sporty when you want it. It’ll give you the confidence to park that opening when 30° off means signing up for the deluxe tour of the sweet American Healthcare system. A wing hungry for everything you can throw at it.
The coming era of BASE is something you won’t want to miss, and the Gryphus is leading the way.
